TCG Tavern buying & trade-ins
This policy explains TCG Tavern buying, trade-in, and mail-in options. Start with the exact item information, wait for staff confirmation, and review the specific terms before deciding whether to move forward.

Create a Mail-In ID, then wait for Ready to ship before sending anything.
A signed-in customer may create an itemized Mail-In ID through the mail-in buylist desk. Submission is not permission to ship: the destination appears only after TCG Tavern completes the required seller and scope checks for that request. Larger or unusual collections can still begin through the inquiry desk or at support@tcg-tavern.com.
For a mail-in request, search the exact card and include printing, language, condition, quantity, and—when using the free seller-priced path—your expected unit price. The website accepts no file uploads. Have clear front-and-back photos ready in case staff requests them after the first review.
An inquiry is not an offer. Submitting an inquiry or Mail-In ID, saving a slab, or enabling Tavern First Look does not create a purchase agreement, custody receipt, exclusivity, or permission to deliver property. A mail-in request becomes eligible to ship only when its signed-in tracker says Ready to ship. Every amount remains conditional on exact identity, physical condition, ownership, authenticity, and required transaction records.
By asking TCG Tavern to evaluate property, you represent that you own it or have authority from the owner to sell or trade it. Do not submit counterfeit, stolen, fraudulently obtained, unlawfully altered, recalled, or encumbered property. We may request identification, proof of authority or provenance, or other records, and may decline or stop a review when ownership, authenticity, safety, or legal compliance cannot be confirmed.
TCG Tavern may decline to evaluate, purchase, or accept any item or collection, in whole or in part, at its discretion and subject to applicable law. A prior purchase, marketplace price, catalog entry, or preliminary staff message does not require us to make an offer or accept the same item later.
Any evaluation may consider authenticity, condition, completeness, language or edition, current demand and market information, recent sales, our existing inventory, expected processing or grading work, resale risk, and the requested payout method. For graded slabs, staff verifies the certification identity and uses a fresh grade-level market reference from an approved licensed source or reviewed sold comparables for the exact card, printing, grader, and grade. The published cash-buy schedule applies 75% from $1–$999.99, 80% from $1,000–$4,999.99, 85% from $5,000–$14,999.99, and 90% at $15,000 or more. Each percentage applies to the full verified market reference, not only the portion inside a tier. The browser guide is informational; its customer-entered value stays local and is neither stored nor verified. A private cash-buy first offer requires fresh staff evidence and owner approval, expires after the displayed deadline, and may change or be withdrawn if the exact identity, ownership, authenticity, slab condition, or current market cannot be confirmed. The calculator is not a quote, guaranteed offer, or minimum payout.
Use the graded slab guide →When TCG Tavern is buying bulk, the current rate is $0.01 per accepted eligible card. Bulk generally means cards valued at $2.00 or less, including commons, uncommons, holos, reverse holos, and other rarities under the threshold. Energy cards, certain basic lands and other basic mana or resource cards, Runes, DON!! cards, tokens, markers, and comparable resource or game-piece cards are not accepted as bulk. Being under $2 does not guarantee acceptance; after inspection, TCG Tavern may accept all, part, or none based on current store need. Confirm current needs before sorting, bringing in, or shipping cards.
Review bulk card buying →A mail-in request may state cash or TCG Tavern account-credit interest, but that preference does not promise a payout route. The final customer view shows only methods whose issuance and completion tracking are currently supported, with the exact net before acceptance. Mailed checks and manually quoted or non-trackable remote payouts are not offered. Until an electronic payout or account-credit connection has a live provider adapter, replay protection, and verified completion reconciliation, the supported cash payout is a scheduled in-store appointment during daily store hours. No payout is complete and ownership does not transfer until staff issues it and records the completed register evidence.
The seller pays inbound postage and optional insurance and must wait for a Ready to ship status. The optional $5 Card Identification & Pricing Service applies once per submission when selected; it is deducted from an accepted payout, or remains due before a declined shipment is returned. For a return, staff first provides the exact carrier charge for approval; the seller pays that actual charge. These terms do not waive rights that cannot be waived or TCG Tavern’s responsibility to use reasonable care after documented delivery. TCG Tavern covers a return caused solely by its material intake or fulfillment error.
Saving a slab in My Tavern is digital recordkeeping only. A physical vault intake opens only after separate versioned terms and the complete intake, outtake, shipping, insurance, timing, and custodian fees are shown and accepted. When active, ALT is the independent custodian; TCG Tavern provides the branded account and service layer but does not conceal or replace the actual custodian. Do not ship or leave a slab without a written intake record. Market estimates, purchase offers, ownership transfers, and custody are separate decisions.
You may decline a final offer before accepting it. Unless applicable law or a separate written agreement requires otherwise, a completed purchase or trade becomes final when you accept TCG Tavern’s final written terms and the agreed payment or store credit is issued. At that point, ownership of the accepted property transfers to TCG Tavern, and the transaction cannot be reversed merely because market prices later change.
Mail-in sellers must be at least 18 and must complete the identity, ownership, recordkeeping, and other checks required for the transaction before shipping is authorized. Do not enter ID images, addresses, banking details, payment-card details, passwords, or unnecessary sensitive information in the buylist manifest.
