October is a busy month across the games we run at the Tavern. Magic's Reality Fracture came out on October 2, Yu-Gi-Oh! and Disney Lorcana each add a new set, Riftbound's Radiance arrives on the 23rd, and One Piece has an Extra Booster on the 30th. Pokémon has already announced its next main expansion for the first week of November.
Below are the dates the publishers have announced, each linked to its source, followed by what they mean if you play or collect at our shop on La Paz Road. Two of our weekly nights also moved this month: Magic Standard is now on Thursdays, and Yu-Gi-Oh! Advanced/Genesys is on Fridays. As with our September release watch Opens in a new tab., a publisher's date tells you when a product exists. It doesn't tell you whether a particular store has it, how much, or at what price.

What it means locally: our Magic nights are now on Thursdays. Thursday Standard Night runs from 6 to 9 PM, and Commander Open Play runs the same evening, also 6 to 9 PM, starting October 8. Our Standard listing says Wizards EventLink registration and reporting apply. Whether the Tavern runs a Store Championship or Commander Party this season will show on the Events calendar Opens in a new tab. when it's scheduled. If you don't see one, ask us rather than assuming.
Looking ahead: Wizards' Star Trek dates page Opens in a new tab. (August 18, 2026) lists that set's prerelease as November 6–12 and release as November 13.
Yu-Gi-Oh! — Beyond the Brave
Konami's Beyond the Brave product page Opens in a new tab. lists an Official Tournament Store launch date of October 7, 2026, and a general release and tournament legal date of October 9. The page describes a 100-card set with new cards for Joey Wheeler's "Dark Time Wizard" theme and Aster Phoenix's Destiny HEROes, an Atlantis theme, an Ashtra theme, and support for existing archetypes including Endymion, Clown Crew and Predaplant.
What it means locally: Yu-Gi-Oh! runs on Tuesdays (Time Wizard Tournament) and, from October 9, on Fridays (Advanced/Genesys), both 6 to 9 PM. That first Friday is the same day Beyond the Brave becomes tournament legal. Our listings note that all Duelists need a KONAMI CARD GAME ID and must check in before play begins, so set that up before your first night with the new cards.
Disney Lorcana — Hyperia City
Ravensburger's Hyperia City announcement Opens in a new tab. (September 22, 2026) sets the prerelease for October 16 and wide release for October 23. The set page Opens in a new tab. lists it as Set 14, with Prerelease Boxes, an Illumineer's Trove, booster displays and booster packs. The announcement names characters from Pixar's Coco and from Big Hero 6 among the set's additions.
What it means locally: Lorcana League runs Tuesdays from 6 to 9 PM. On Tuesday, October 20, our second Riftbound Radiance Pre-Rift takes its place for that night, as the Pre-Rift listing notes. Ravensburger lists participating stores through its Play Hub store locator Opens in a new tab.. If a Hyperia City prerelease isn't on our calendar yet, ask staff.

One Piece Card Game — Heroines Edition vol.2 [EB-05], and a ban
Bandai's EB-05 product page Opens in a new tab. lists the English release as October 30, 2026, at $4.99 per pack, and says cards are "tournament legal from the pre-release date in your region."
Separately, Bandai's ban list notice Opens in a new tab. bans the OP14-020 Dracule Mihawk Leader, including its parallel and alternate-art versions, from October 12, 2026.
What it means locally: One Piece runs Saturdays from 3 to 6 PM, so October 10 is the last Saturday tournament where OP14-020 is legal. Our One Piece listings say Bandai TCG+ registration and reporting apply to official events.
Pokémon TCG — Mega Evolution—Delta Reign (early November)
There's no new main Pokémon expansion in October that we could confirm from an official source. The next one is close: Sports Illustrated's collectibles coverage Opens in a new tab. (August 21, 2026) quotes The Pokémon Company International confirming a worldwide release of Mega Evolution—Delta Reign on November 6, 2026, headlined by Mega Rayquaza ex, with Legendary Stadium cards made of two halves. Pokémon has also published a Delta Reign prerelease page on pokemon.com; we couldn't load it to confirm the prerelease dates, so check with us for those.
What it means locally: Pokémon League Play runs Sundays from 3 to 6 PM. If you're still opening 30th Celebration, our collector's guide to that set Opens in a new tab. still applies.
How to use this list without overspending
A release date is the start of a decision, not the decision itself. A few things we'd suggest:
- Decide your reason first. Playing the new format, collecting a specific card, or buying sealed to keep are different purchases.
- Check what's actually listed. Our Shop Opens in a new tab. shows what we have. If you want something we don't list, our special orders and preorders guide Opens in a new tab. explains how requests work.
- Wait a week on expensive singles. Prices on new cards often move a lot in the first days after release. If you want to trade into a new deck, our sell and trade page Opens in a new tab. explains how we buy.
- Get your event account ready. Each game tracks players through its publisher's account or app, and new-set events are often busier than regular nights.
FAQ
Did any weekly nights move? Yes. From October 8, Magic Standard and Commander run on Thursdays, and from October 9, Yu-Gi-Oh! Advanced/Genesys runs on Fridays. All of them are 6 to 9 PM. The Events calendar Opens in a new tab. always has the current schedule.
Is the Tavern hosting prereleases for these sets? Our two Riftbound Radiance Pre-Rifts are on the calendar for October 19 and 20. Anything else we schedule will appear on the Events calendar Opens in a new tab.. If a prerelease you're looking for isn't listed, ask us at (949) 688-0820 or support@tcg-tavern.com.
When can I play new cards at a Tavern event? It depends on each game's rules and the event. Bandai, for example, says EB-05 cards are tournament legal from the prerelease date in your region. If you're unsure, ask the staff running that night.
Will you have these products in stock? We can't promise stock for any product before it's listed. Check the Shop, or ask us.
