TCG Tavern separates discovery from commitment. An in-stock product is verified for checkout. A preorder or special order requires fixed price and fulfillment details before payment. A request-only Quest Board result is simply a free request for the Tavern to investigate supply, price, and timing. You do not pay merely because a product appeared in search.
Here is the whole path, from “Can you get this?” to a confirmed order.
First, identify the availability label
The Tavern Market and Quest Board serve different moments in the search.
- In stock / available now: the item is in hand or approved for checkout. Read the product page for the current price and fulfillment options.
- Preorder and pay: price and expected fulfillment timing have been confirmed closely enough to offer a payment path. The displayed terms control; release dates can still change upstream.
- Special order: the Tavern is sourcing an item for a specific order. Do not treat an early conversation as final until the details are confirmed.
- Request a check: the catalog recognizes the product, but availability is not yet verified. Submitting the request is free and does not create a charge.
The label is the promise. A familiar product name, an image, or a search result by itself is not.
Search by the most specific information you have
On the Quest Board, start with a product name, SKU, or barcode. Include the game, set, language, and product type when those details matter. “Pokémon box” can describe many products; a full name and language can prevent the Tavern from investigating the wrong one.
If the product does not appear, use Post a custom quest. Describe what you want clearly, but never include payment-card details or account passwords in the message.
What happens after a request
The live Quest Board explains the process in three stages:
- Post a quest. Tell the Tavern what you want.
- We investigate. The team checks supply, price, and timing.
- Order securely. Payment happens only after the details are fixed and a legitimate checkout path is available.
This pause protects both sides. Distributor availability can change. Imported products can differ by language or configuration. A release date may be known before a store's exact allocation is known. Verification prevents a search result from pretending those uncertainties have already been solved.
A request is not a reservation
Until TCG Tavern confirms the item and provides the next step, do not assume inventory is held, a release allocation is guaranteed, or a price is locked. If timing is important—an event, a gift, or a release-day plan—say so in the request. It helps the team give you a useful answer, but it does not manufacture supply.
When a confirmed payment path is offered, review:
- exact product and language;
- quantity;
- price and any applicable shipping;
- pickup or shipping expectation;
- release or fulfillment timing;
- cancellation or final-sale terms shown for that purchase.
If any detail is wrong, ask before paying.
Keep the Quest Journal for continuity
My Tavern includes a private Quest Journal that can help this browser remember eligible requests and reservations. It is not the public Journal you are reading now, and it is not a public message board. The My Tavern guide explains the portfolio, wishlist, Slab Vault, and request tools together.
Because some My Tavern features are browser- or account-dependent, use the same device when returning to a request unless the Tavern gives you another reference path. Do not post a private request reference publicly.
When to use Shop instead
If the item is already verified in the Tavern Market, use that product path. It is faster, shows the current price, and avoids asking the team to research something already available. The Market places in-stock products first and uses secure Shopify checkout for verified inventory.
If you are unsure which route applies, read In Stock, Preorder, or Quest Board: How to Shop TCG Tavern. It is the short map; this article is the detailed field guide.
The promise behind the Quest Board
The Quest Board is designed to say “we will check” honestly instead of saying “we have it” carelessly. Search broadly, read the status precisely, and pay only when the product, price, and fulfillment details are clear.
That is how a product hunt becomes a trustworthy order.
Choose the honest path
Search broadly. Pay only after the details are fixed.
Post a sourcing request through the Quest Board, or use the Market for inventory already verified for checkout.
